It's been a while since I TT'd. I was excited to test out the new 54 x 11-28. Beautiful night. I designed a fast course. hehe 8.46 miles. Downhill on the profile with tailwind. I wasn't feeling fresh per say, but I got up to speed fast. I suffered veryet a very good effort. 28.4 mph avg. Yeah! Sean was 29.9 mph but he's pro level now. Amazing. Josh was still feeling Sunday's race, but did a great job at 26.8 mph. Everyone rode fast! I hopped on the fat bike for TT # 2. What an effort. 22.4 mph avg on pavement. I rode some anger after Sunday's race. LOL Very pleased. Great prep for Sunday's senior Olympics TT's.

Back on the fat bike after yesterday's examination at Big Tim's bike shop. I beat the rain. Well it rained as I rode, but it was light. Nothing got through the trees. I tested last night's adjustments out. The bike shifted superbly under load which was a huge relief. The legs felt good too. Huge difference in riding tonight when all is good with the drive chain. 1 hour 20 mins of fun. The training has begun for the MoMBA XC race in late September.

Josh & I headed to Michigan for a 8 hour race. We went to race dry trail with no expectation of doing the entire 8 hours. Sunshine with temps in the low 60's at the start. Josh was on his badass 29er. That bike is fast. To top it off, Josh was on an amazing day. We rode the first 4 laps together. We were 3rd & 4th. Wow! On lap 5 my bike started to mis-shift. Broke 2 chains the same way. I backed off a bit with Josh a minute or so in front. I debated stopping, but I did 1 more lap for 52.2 miles / 4 Hours 13 minutes at 13 mph. Pretty darn fast on a fatty and with the issues. Josh kept going and found himself in 2nd. He had to keep going. Well, in the end, he won the race doing 12 laps at 104 miles. Wow! So proud of him. Josh has worked hard over the years. Good stuff! I ended up 11th. Despite the mechanical, I got my 4 hours in. I have other goals coming up this weekend on the TT bike anyhow. Turned out the chain / shifting issue was resolved tonight with Big Tim. After 2 chains breaking, my ptsd's in high gear. Luckily my chain had no signs of wear this time. The 1x setup is just temperamental. We adjusted it a bit, so it should be smoother shifting under load. Back on the tt bike this week with MCR TT # 7 & Sunday's Senior Olympics TT's.

It's hot. Enough said. LOL I've limited my rides to around a hour at a time during this heatwave. I'm still not recovered from the 12 hour earlier in the month. Easy 1 hour spin Saturday after a rest day Friday. Double ride on Sunday. TT race recon in the morning. Rain, heat, rain, heat, etc etc Ride # 2 on the Madone. Nice 11 mile spin before picking up dinner. The rain felt great with the humidity non existent. Oh the heat returns tomorrow, but it was a nice reprieve.

The heat & humidity come tomorrow, but today's ride was killer. I parked in Medway riding NE up near Thackery & back. 30.5 miles on the Madone SL6. I miss the days of working in Springfield when I parked at Northwestern H.S. Love them roads. Corn is off the hook. Third day in a row after a rest week. The legs are coming around. I'll do some efforts tomorrow for sure. This year has been the most road riding with all the trails closed. It's been fun.

Back on the bike after a few rest days since it was a rest week. Fun 46 miler with Josh. Many roads on the old Sunday route over to Terre Haute. Lots of great memories. We stole one before the storms. We came across this Trump sign in the middle of nowhere. haha

Back at it after a rest day. The storms rolled though leaving sunshine & dry roads with Howard & Josh. The corn is crazy tall. It blocked the wind coming back. Howard & Josh put in a ton of intervals on Strava segments. I rode the 5.9 Madone again. Good stuff. 34 miles of fun in the sun! Mooooo!
