4 Hours of Ithaca - Fatty Style
Josh & I rolled North to Michigan for a 4:00 p.m. start. Always wanted to do this event. We started pretty fast. Course was twisty & rooty. The laps flew by. Josh had some crashes and fell behind. I waited and paced him. I was there to just get in some miles. Minus a few Mad Cow events, it's my only mtb race for the year. The bluto fork was nice, but full suspension would have been nice. My wrists were feeling them roots. Josh had a resurgence on the final laps. That 29er is a fast bike. Josh did a great job taking 3rd place overall. I was 1st Fat Bike /7th Overall. 40 miles was my goal. Fun 1 day road trip. Mooooo!

MoMBA Friday
Crazy hot & smoky Friday. I had a small window with the rain coming after work, so I headed to MoMBA. Stole one. Perfect race prep for tomorrow. Thunder & lightning around me, but stayed dry. Rain started a few mins after I left. Moooohahahaha

TT Wednesday
Busy dayhad t. I had time for a short TT spin. 95 degrees, so 45 minutes was plenty after last 5 days. haha When it's this hot I stick to 7-9 hours a week until temps ease. As I said yesterday working in it all day takes it's toll. Bring on Fall.

Blue Streak TT - Fatty Style
Another cooker at 95 degrees. Working in it all day then racing or riding takes it's toll. 20.1 mph avg in that heat on the fatty is just fine. What a workout. Started strongly at 300 watts for the first mile. I felt good, but had to stay steady rest of the way. Overheating was a factor, but I dumped water over the helmet. T.Bolt did a great job too as well as Sean who's bars slipped. Still 29.4 avg. Wow! Hot hot hot!

Weekend Wrap Up
Back on the bike yesterday after 2 well earned rest days. I think I did 9 days straight. The rain rolled in so I hopped on Rouvy for a quickie. Today was epic fatty fun at Mohican with Josh. It's been a few years. Real MTB stuff. 24.5 miles loop but 2,750+ ft. of climbing. Technical rocks n roots. Josh's first time on that loop. I was tired after my gig last night, so I took it easy. I finally woke up after a hour. The legs felt great rest of the way. Position was better than it's been in a while. Josh did a great job. That trail is no joke. Great prep for next week's race. Fun stuff!
