Weekend Wrap Up

Oh I've been riding every other day while fighting a nasty sinus infection. Friday was a hot one on the road with Josh in P-Hill. Good 2 hours in. Sunday Josh & I had fun in Fort Wayne at Franke Park. 3+ hours of dry single track while everything here was closed. I got out in Cow Country tonight. 3.5 miles in I hit a rock then my tire went flat. Storms popped up while changing the tube. I got back to my truck just in time. 6 mile ride. lol I'm still not 100%, so not a big day of riding. Be back tomorrow.

Farm Country Spin

 

Another evening spin ride. Temps were nice after the rain rolled through. Rode the 5.9 Madone again. I'm still congested but feeling better. Keeping the rides around a hour. Working all day in the heat, a hour ride is just fine. haha

Cow Country Tuesday

Easy spin sweating out some sinus crap on my 5.9 Madone. 91 degrees when I started at 8:45 haha Gonna be a few more days until I feel better, but had to ride. Every time I ride in CC I get nostalgic. Many old memories come out. Good stuff!

Weekend Wrap Up

 Summer arrived Saturday. Temps in mid 90's with heat index of 103 degrees. Big Tim & I rode in New Castle at Westwood Park. It was hot. haha At leat the trails were open. 2 hours in the heat. Tim was flying on his E-MTB. Zooom! Sunday Josh & I headed to DTE for some fun. The fun ended after the first hour when my chain broke into pieces, argggg. Oh well. At least I got a hour in. That place is so fun. Can't wait to go back. Josh his ride in then picked me up.

Mad Cow Ramble TT # 5

Last minute TT. I had planned for next week, but mid 90's all next week. haha Sunny skies & 85 tonight. Wind 10 mph SW. 9.75 mile TT. First 2 miles was tailwind on rough old chip n seal. Elm Tree South was fun. A few grinds & 90 degree s turns. The new adjustments were killer. 3.5+ miles on Troy Urbana to the finish was a character builder. 26.3 mph avg. I hopped on the fat bike for TT # 2. 19.9 mph avg. Yeah! The guys rode great. Awesome night out there! Mooooo!

Cow Country Wednesday

Another long day at work. Had to ride tho. Stole another one! 🤘I parked at Bethel High School like the old days. Rolled up to WG & back then did laps in the lot for a 20 miler until the storm front unleashed. Loaded up & changed. It started pouring buckets as I drove away. Haha

Farm Country Tuesday

 

Long day of work, but a bike ride makes everything better. hehe I parked in Union heading North East near Laura. I put in some efforts. I took the 6.9 SSL Madone out again. Fun stuff. Another good one in Farm Country. Back tomorrow for more fun!

Skinny Tire Monday

 

Fun 20 miler NE of Casstown. The corn is shooting up with the rain & humidity. I took out my 6.9 SSL Madone. It's been awhile. I bought the frame in 2020 new old stock. I added 105 11 speed with vision wheels. This bike is awesome. Although the frame is 18 years old, it's still light, stiff, & responsive. After the ride, I hopped on the TT bike for a bit. Fun stuff!

Weekend Wrap Up

Rain and more rain. haha I still got some riding in tho. Brookville road riding fun on the Madone SL6 Friday night after the rain. Muggy, but did a few KOM intervals. Saturday I headed to Liberty for some fatty gravel. 2 hours of riding. I finished up just as the rain returned. I did the Zwift TT Club race Saturday night. 5.8 miles. 2nd place in my category / 7th place overall. Short Father's Day ride on my TT bike. Yep, I got rained on. LOL Not a bad week considering the weather.

 39 miles ramblin' around Miami County with The Beast & Joshium. Spun the legs out with 1 effort. Awesome night. Good stuff!

Blue Streak TT

Another Blue Streak TT in the books. Started well but had some saddle problems which ended my run. I finished but only in 11th place if you don't count the HPV's. I barely made it to race, so warm up was not great. Oh well, 11th out of 130 isn't bad tho. I'll be back next month. The Beast 2nd place at 29.2 mph. WOW!

Weekend Wrap Up

Back on the bike Friday for a fun 37 miler in Cow Country with T.Bolt. Lots of memories in the head from 4 decades. Rudy as always was awesome as ever. I always think of Keith every time I sprint to Studebaker. Fun stuff! TT ride Saturday with a few efforts. Muggy but no rain. The legs felt good. Josh & I hit the Simon Kenton Trail Sunday. 3rd Place / PR for the out n back loop. Josh was on fire heading North. I slowly woke up. Great tempo coming home. I miss the old gravel, but the low grade pavement is still rough with a bit of light gravel. That trail is a workout. Good times!

Fatty Farmersville Wednesday

 Fatty gravel fun in Farmersville with The Beast, Joshium, & T.Bolt. 1,500 ft. of climbing in 28 miles. Spun the legs out with a few moderate efforts. Beautiful evening to ride! Mooooo!

Strawberry Fest TT - Oh Yeah!

First hot day appeared perfectly for the Strawberry Fest TT. haha May was wet and chilly. Summer is here. I've been fortunate to win this race a few times with many 2nd & 3rd's over the years. I've put in a lot of work to get back to a respectable level. Not my best, but pretty happy how things have progressed on the tt bike. Gravel & single track are more a priority or should I say a bit more fun. haha 89 degrees with SW wind at 14 mph. Got in the warm up. Legs were kind of meh but not too bad. I rolled up the start line at 6:07:30.  Tebow counted me down. SR 589 was fast considering it was chip n sealed last Fall. I started fast at 343 avg watts for the first mile then 335 avg watts to Loy at mile 2. Loy East bound was a mix of cross & tailwind, but pretty happy with that effort. Going South on Alcony - Conover was tough in the wind. It hurt.  I finally made it to Troy - Urbana SW to the finish. The Beast passed me like a sports car. LOL I stayed focused on my effort tho. I pushed hard to the line. 3rd Place overall at 27.1 mph avg. I'll take it. Yeah! The Beast took 1st at 29.6 mph avg. Wow! Wattzille 2nd. T.Bolt did well in 10th. I then hopped on the fat bike for race # 2. 19 mph avg. That hurt too. hehe Great job all racers and thanks to Speedy feet.

Fatty JB Monday

Fun solo spin at John Bryan this afternoon. 20 miles of single track for 1 hour 43 minutes. The trails were ion great shape. Karen, Doug, & all volunteers do amazing trail work. The legs felt pretty good. Ran high cadence saving for tomorrow. We'll see what's in the tank for the Strawberry Fest TT. Mooooo!

Town Run Sunday Video

Weekend Wrap Up

Rest day Friday. Rain rain go away. lol I opted for a Zwift TT on Saturday for Strawberry TT Prep. 19,5 mile course. I went a bit easier  but steady higher cadence tempo to keep the legs fresh. 2nd Place in my category / 5th Overall. Sunday Josh & I hit Town Run in Indy. Awesome day. So much fun. A little redemption as it will be a year next weekend from our last visit. I broke my collarbone when Josh yelled snake which scared the crap out of me. It felt great going back and having fun today. Quite a few PR's for us. Josh did great! I hit the TT bike for a 10 mile interval ride with 2 KOM's in Cow Country in the evening. Pretty good numbers too. Fun stuff!
