Wed - Saturday

Zwift Wednesday, Thursday & Saturday this week with two races. Good power numbers too. Fun 2 hours in Tipp Friday & Fundalia Sunday. Nice mix of structured training indoors with fatty fun outdoors. I put in some KOM efforts on the fatty as well. Good stuff! Pretty pleased where my fitness level is at for this time of year. Monday begins December. Time to ramp it up!

Fatty Monday & Tuesday

10 mile Zwift ride in the morning followed up with a nice Fatty Sunset ride. New KOM on River Trail Extended. The rain moved out with temps near 60 tonight. Fun 1 hour 15 minute ride from Fundalia hitting a little bit of everything. Good times!

Back on the bike after 2 rest days. Busy weekend off the bike, but glad to get out for a fun 2 hour fatty ride with Buz. River trail once again was badass! Fun stuff!

Up early for a 10 miler on Zwift before work. Fun fatty ride from Fundalia after work. 9 day block done. Rest day tomorrow.

MCR Fat Cross Night Race

Another good one in the books. Finally got to race on my cross course. Bone dry too. My 8th day in a row including last night's race. Great group. I hung back with the guys for a few laps. The Beast hit it on Lap 4. I simply didn't have the legs. My lap times were solid tho, but I knew I'd be suffering from last night. Still had a good effort at 15.4 mph avg. Big Tim won on the E-MTB, The Beast 2nd, and I was 3rd. Everyone did great tho.

Zwift Race Tuesday

Ouch that hurt. 24 mile race with 3,000 ft. of climbing. We started with rolling terrain on Titans Grove. I settled in at moderate tempo. High cadence on the hills. We then hit the Epic KOM climb. 5.8 miles at 4%. I reached the top but the climbing wasn't done just yet. Left turn then up the Radio Tower climb. .7 long at 13.7% avg. I was sufferin' on that section. I made it to the top then enjoyed the descent. Last few miles was back in Titans Grove. I recovered a bit with good power numbers. The final half mile up Titans Grove KOM hurt. haha 5th Place. On to tomorrow's MCR Fat Cross Night Race. It's gonna hurt!

Busy day, but I got out around 5:15. Fun solo ride down to Fundalia from Tipp. Perfect 82 minute ride including the river trail. Oh yeah!

Double Ride Sunday

Hit the 1:20 Zwift TT 6.4 miler on a full stomach. hehe That hurt. 6th place. I then put in some trail work getting Wednesday's race course 100%. 40 mile spin ride after that. Excited to race this course. The grass section will be tough but that's the fun part. 9 hour riding week. Perfect for this time of year. Time to ramp it up tho.

Cow Country Saturday

 

Busy Saturday catching up from a few snow days earlier in the week. I finally got out late afternoon for another 21 miler in Cow Country. 67 degrees with a bit of wind. hehe I rode from Bethel up to Walnut Grove. Of course the way out was fast. Coming back was a bit blustery. The Cow Hill had a nice tailwind. I'm still bummed I lost my KOM gpx file. That day over 12 years ago was killer at 34.5 mph avg on the tt bike. As I went up, I thought of so many that have come & gone over the decades. I wish the best for everyone fyi. Hope life is treating y'all well after all these years. I've won a lot of races the last 15 years, but those .Fred's /  Ramble days had so many characters & rivals over nearly 20 years. Good stuff! I worked my way South. That left Rudy. The wind was howling out of the SW. How many cracked going up that hill back in the day. Keith was so good on that stretch. I remember always crossing 571 with a big group yet by the top to Studebaker it was just Keith & I. haha Miss ya Keith! It's been nice riding the road bike 3 days in a row. Shorter rides, but that's a good thing. It's November.

Medway Friday

 

It's been a while since I've ridden from Medway. Great location this time of year staying North & South avoiding the setting sun. 19.6 avg for 20 miles with 2 good 1.4 mile efforts. 2nd effort KOM! 62 degrees felt nice.

Snow & 30 on Monday. Sunshine & 57 degrees today. lol Gotta love Ohio weather. 20 mile Sunset ride. Stole another one on the road bike. Mooooo!

After a 10 mile Zwift ride in the morning, Buz, Joshium, & I had a blast. 2 hours of fatty fun. Awesome night. 2,5 hours in the saddle!

Made the most of a day off playing in the snow at TMBA. Nothing like riding on Fresh Powder. I got one in before the thaw. The trails were melting as I finished. I put in 10 miles late in the day on Zwift at 20.4 mph avg. Moooooohaha! 

Weekend Wrap Up

 

Busy day Saturday, but I had time for an afternoon 20 miler on the SL6. Happy to get another road ride in. Temps were mid 50's. The wind wasn't bad. Sunday was a lazy day. I eventually hopped on Zwift. 8 mile spin with seated short sprints. I did the Avon Flyer 3.1 mile TT again. I had no intention to go all out. I started slower than earlier in the week, but after a mile I was feeling good. The watts were going up the entire race. I finished strong up the final short hill taking 1st place with 332 avg watts. 8 seconds faster than earlier in the week. Good stuff!

Double Friday

Zwift race this morning. Solid 4th Place at 280 avg watts. The weather cleared late afternoon with some sun. Nice 50 minute fatty ride at sunset. Good day in the saddle!

Awesome Wednesday night of racing at TMBA. Windy but warm. The guys killed it. Big Tim ran the ebike. He took off and I tried to hang. I did 16.8 mph avg on lap 1. haha Felt great, but that effort hurt. Everyone else were on fat bikes. Always fun being back at TMBA for night racing. Yeah!

TT & TMBA Monday

It's November which means Zwift time again. I had the day off work. First ride on my trainer bike. I bought a $2000 Trek Emonda without wheels for $225. haha Everything worked well. 4.5 mile warm up then I did Zwift TT Club race. 3.1 miles. Tempo effort for 5th place at 316 avg watts. I then met Buz for a 90+ minute ride at TMBA. Mapped out Wednesday night's race. Good stuff!

MCR Bikepacking Vid

MCR Bikepacking Trip 2025

It was a rest week minus a few easy rides on Tuesday & Friday. November arrived and I've waited a long time for my trip. Mad Cow Ramble bikepacking. Yeah! Buz & I had a blast riding to a private camp SE of Brookville. 41 miles round trip with 1,400 ft. of climbing. My E-bike and trailer kicked ass hauling all the stuff. Good times! I hit Hayes with Josh Sunday afternoon. Beautiful Fall day.
