Sunday was an awesome day to race at TMBA. Although Mad Cow Ramble is smaller by design, it's more fun than ever. Joshium aka Josh, Big Tim, & Tebow joined me. 17 degrees ate the start. I kept the race at 4 laps for 10 miles. Trails weren't frozen which made for a big workout. It was like riding on flypaper. Awesome sunrise for the warm up. Big Tim counted us down. 5,4,3,2,1.......GO! From the first pedal rev, I knew I was on a no chain day. The grass field & Adventure Loop were loud by the big tires grinding through the permafrost. If I had a power meter, I was hitting 450+ watts. haha
The race was like riding with your brakes rubbing. The sun was out & the watts were high. Lap 11:55. My cornering was better on lap 2 finishing a bit quicker in 11:39. Normally laps will get slower but lap 3 was solid at 11:40. Nothing better than flying down Rivers Edge in the Winter. Lap 4 was spiritual. I tear'd up simply being thankful I can still do this stuff. My crash back in June in Indy was not fun, Missed 5 weeks of work as well as gigs. There was a point I was worried my bones wouldn't heal. Luckily they did. hehe I hammered to the finish line with lap 4 my fastest in 11:25. 46:25 at 12.5 mph. Yeah! Josh rolled in followed by Big Tim & Tebow. Great job guys. We missed Sean, Howard, & Ben. Next time! Winter can be iffy, so I was happy to get a sub 20 degree trail race in. Zwift racing is also in full swing. Did 3 Zwift races & the fat bike race in a week. Yeah! 2025 is coming. I'm ready!
Venga!
