BR4 8 Hour Race

Josh & I headed to Michigan for a 8 hour race. We went to race dry trail with no expectation of doing the entire 8 hours. Sunshine with temps in the low 60's at the start. Josh was on his badass 29er. That bike is fast. To top it off, Josh was on an amazing day. We rode the first 4 laps together. We were 3rd & 4th. Wow! On lap 5 my bike started to mis-shift. Broke 2 chains the same way. I backed off a bit with Josh a minute or so in front. I debated stopping, but I did 1 more lap for 52.2 miles / 4 Hours 13 minutes at 13 mph. Pretty darn fast on a fatty and with the issues. Josh kept going and found himself in 2nd. He had to keep going. Well, in the end, he won the race doing 12 laps at 104 miles. Wow! So proud of him. Josh has worked hard over the years. Good stuff! I ended up 11th. Despite the mechanical, I got my 4 hours in. I have other goals coming up this weekend on the TT bike anyhow. Turned out the chain / shifting issue was resolved tonight with Big Tim. After 2 chains breaking, my ptsd's in high gear. Luckily my chain had no signs of wear this time. The 1x setup is just temperamental. We adjusted it a bit, so it should be smoother shifting under load. Back on the tt bike this week with MCR TT # 7 & Sunday's Senior Olympics TT's.

Venga!
