Blue Streak TT - Fatty Style

I barely made it to the Blue Streak tonight. Busy day. I arrived at 6:15. I had time for a 1 mile warm up. Sunshine & 41 degrees. haha Fat bike was perfect. I had arm warmers & jersey with short sleeve base layer underneath. Just shorts & wool socks with thin Winter gloves & thin skull calp. I was plenty warm. NW wind at 10 mph. Out n back course due to flooding. I actually love that course. Many great battles over the years. Howard started a minute & a half in front of me on his fatty. I got up to speed quickly. The legs felt good. The wind started to bite as I made the turn West along SR 235. The watts were there. The speed picked up heading SW. I passed Howard just before the turn around. I caught a few racers cheering them on as I went by. East along SR 235 was fun. I made the right hand bend with 2 miles to go. I was hoping for more of a push South, but it was crosswind. I hammered as much as I could crossing the line with 19.3 mph avg.1st Place Fat Bike. 28th place out of 57. Great prep for this weekend's race.  Howard avg'd 17.7 on the fatty with a badly dragging rear break. Impressive! Tonight was the coldest Blue Streak TT I've ever done, but I was toasty warm. I get a lot of looks racing the fat bike out there, but I had a blast. I'm still planning on doing a race or two out there on the tt bike just to put a good number down. The fat bike is challenging. I've won then Blue Streak Twice with many top 5 & 10 placings over the years. I have nothing to prove per say. It will be hard not doing Fatty next month. LOL Tonight's effort shows the hard work over the Winter is paying off. Fun stuff!

Venga!
