Mad Cow Ramble - R & G TT - Fatty Style

 

Mad Cow Ramble Road & Gravel TT in Farmersville last night. 56 degrees with 15 mph NW wind. A bit chilly in the parking lot but we warmed up after a few pedal revs. The arm warmers came off for the TT. 13.8 miles with 800 ft. of climbing. Downhill start on pavement then the gravel. Despite the rain, the gravel was dry & fast. I felt great hammering around the course. 18.2 mph avg which is a pr. Yeah! Very pleased to see an effort like that.  Big Tim worked hard on his e-mtb. His HR was high. Great seeing him out there. Josh was sick the day before and only ate food for the first time a few hours before the TT. He did a great effort on his heavy fatty too. Tebow went earlier yesterday. It's not about a ton of people. More the merrier, but we got bikes to ride. Those there, attack!

Zwift TT Wednesday

 Back at it after a rest day. Indoor Zwift TT. 16 miles with some cobbles & almost 900 feet of climbing. The Petit climb was 1.6 miles at 4%. I got to the top at halfway averaging 300 watts. Downhill for a while then spun it in to the finish. 1st Place / 6th overall. Good steady effort. We'll see what's in the tank for tomorrow's Mad Cow Ramble Farmersville TT.

Fatty JB Monday

Fun ride at John Bryan with Big Tim & T.Bolt. It was nice to ger in another single track ride before the rain. The trails were in great shape. Close to 2 hours. Fun stuff!

Catching Up

 

Catching up with the the rest of the week. Commuting Thursday followed by a road ride then a midnight night ride around Fundalia in 81 degree weather. Yeah! Rest day Friday followed by Fatty Farmersville Saturday & Fatty Fun at Bailey's with Josh. We got muddy, but what a blast! Feel like I'm recovering finally from Coal Country. The form is on it's way back up. Good weekend of riding. Tomorrow looks good before the rain rolls in.

Mad Cow Ramble Road Bike TT

Back to back night's of racing. 16.72 mile route with a little bit of everything. Not a bad effort. All good until 11 miles. The legs were feeling it in the head & cross wind to the finish. Lost .6 mph avg there. Last mile to the finish on Lost Creek Shelby was straight in the wind.  Gave it all I had left. Ouch! Good kind of suffering tho. I'm in a valley form wise by design but these races are building things nicely. Great job everyone!

Blue Streak TT

April's Blue Streak was 39 degrees, so I rode the fat bike. Back for # 2 on the TT bike. Not a fast conditions night per say. SE wind at 4- 5 mph. Find out how my position changes faired from last week. I started a bit slow, but hey I'm old now. haha Watts were pretty good overall. East along SR 235 was ok but not great. I made the turn South with 2 miles to go giving everything. Good effort there. Last .3 to the finish was great at 30 mph with 353 watts. 10th Place overall minus the HPV / Recumbents. 26.5 avg. 6th - my place separated by only 11 seconds so the TT form is coming along. New adjustments felt great. The Beast flew with 2nd Place at 29.1 mph avg. Wow! T.Bolt did well at 29th place / 22.8 for first time on TT bike this year. Tebow did great as well. No warm up since he started all racers. It rained everywhere but on WPAFB. Stole another one!
